Thanks to its wide temperature swings and strong exposure to the sun, the Sicilian climate produces some very fine citrus fruits. Maison Ponthier has therefore selected well-balanced, flavoursome blood oranges grown in a superbly fertile natural environment, a volcanic soil surrounded by mountains.
Frozen blood orange puree is perfect for preparing mousses, bavarois, desserts, sorbets and ice creams, fruit jellies, cocktails and fruit juices, smoothies and mousses in siphons.

The mountains of Sicily (Italy) are mainly made up of Tertiary soils known as ‘Trubi’ or ‘White Marls’, rich in limestone, fine yellow sands and minerals. These draining soils are ideal for citrus groves. Orange trees here are generously loaded with fruit. In addition, these mountains are rich in small streams that regularly feed the soil and enable healthy trees to be grown. The island’s permanent natural exposure to the sun, which is essential for the proper development of citrus trees, also contributes to the high quality of Sicilian fruit.
