A Briogeo hit for me was their Don’t Despair Repair hair mask. Alright I’m convinced, to not buy them at this time. The Amika one for me is much more effective at getting rid of buildup, so I won’t be repurchasing the Briogeo. But, I’m a stickler for trying new things so I switched it up and bought the Alterna Caviar Replenishing Moisture Masque instead and I have to say I’m disappointed. what shampoos / conditioners are you guys currently using? I’ve found that if I use the serum all over my scalp or if I use it everyday, it makes my scalp red and sensitive. After chatting with Briogeo via IG and a girl working at Sephora (pre Covid), I went with the banana over the apple as it’s better suited for dryer hair. I got a trial of it with the charcoal shampoo for my Sephora birthday gift and it for me so intrigued in the brand. I always thought I was just missing something or kept getting bad samples, glad to see a good number of people feel the same way. I’m going to have to check shu uerma our! I don't use it anymore because of the price. The smooth conditioner is also good, and I love their mask used along with Olaplex No 3 for damage. After that I switched to Davines which I actually liked a lot, but I have since realized the sulfate free life is overrated and not for me so I am using Shu Uemura now and believe I found my HG product. As a brand, I think it’s great that Briogeo is black-owned and that they offer a wide variety of products for different hair types. I have tried the Briogeo charcoal shampoo and conditioner. The only few that have reviewed the line are YouTube beauty gurus so I’d like to actually get an honest opinion. I am currently using the superfoods coconut banana shampoo and conditioner and I absolutely love everything about it! I tried the Amika clarifying shampoo, and it was night and day. I also love love love the avocado kiwi mask. And I only wash my hair once a week. It does make my hair feel pretty clean after using it and it smells excellent, but it definitely isn’t worth $42. Not worth the price in my opinion. Briogeo products left my hair with this awful greasy residue. I bought the scalp revival charcoal and coconut oil micro-exfoliating shampoo because I heard so many excellent things about it. It smells like thin mints, which I love, but it's too expensive. I would try out the travel sizes first before just to be safe. I have a sensitive scalp. Most of the products smell amazing and work well but I want amazing results if I'm spending that amount. It’s very good, I just use soooo much of it that i finish the tub quickly and I don’t know if I want to spend over a hundred on the jumbo size. Hope this helps! Briogio reviews? After I stopped using the Blossom shampoo, the flakes and dandruff lessened, but were still bad for a while. But they are definitely hit or miss for me personally! 04/09/2019 Why I’m no longer using Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! It smells very strongly of apple (duh) and it makes my hair shiny but it’s not amazing. It helped with the itchyness on my dry scalp. I’d go back to the Briogeo in a heartbeat. They have the oi line online at Tj Maxx right now ( I know, I know) but it comes out similar with shipping unless I add enough things. I use the scalp repair kit and I haven't been able to understand what I'm doing wrong. I bought the jumbo sizes last year for 20% off in November during Sephora’s sale. My hair always felt so soft and smooth afterward. I find the bottom half of my hair is less frizzy and a bit softer. It makes my already thick hair feel strawlike and almost as if I didn't rinse out the product well, which has lead me to rinse for 5 mins jic it was user error. If anyone has other recommendations though I’d love to hear! I went to a salon before the closures happened and they used amika, my hair did not feel or look as good even with lower quality shampoos. I tried that shampoo and really enjoyed it, it did make a mess out my tub and drain though . I’m really curious to try the be kind like, either the matcha or the banana. I purchased morrocanoil deep repair hydration, I remember a salon used it on me before and it was really good so hopefully it’ll perform the same! i use leave in conditioners and hair oils so i worry about a shampoo not cleansing enough of that stuff out of my hair. It was equivalent to much cheaper deep conditioners you can get at the drug store. I truly don’t know but as soon as I switched off it my tone was so so much better. I used to use the scalp revival micro exfoliating scrub and I did really like it but I found it to be just as effective when I used it once every 2-3 washes. For shampoo, I really like Virtue Labs recovery shampoo and smooth shampoo. But I’m not a fan of the peppermint oil in the serum—it leaves a pleasant tingling sensation, but based on research I’ve read on peppermint oil in cosmetics, I’m not convinced it has any actual benefits for the scalp/skin and can actually cause irritation sometimes. I’ve used the don’t despair, repair mask- I LOVE it. The deep repair mask is also incredible. I’ve never heard of that brand :). It’s typically dry and loves to be frizzy. It’s hands down my favorite nourishing, moisturizing hair mask. clean care. level 1 I like the Don't Despair, Repair treatment, but honestly, Jessicurl's Deep Treatment is just as good. I can’t really feel the “micro-exfoliating” part of it on my scalp, and I also don’t really think it suds up as much as I’d like, so maybe if you don’t have thick hair it would last longer and be worth the price.
